Privacy policy

Tune is in private beta. This page describes what the service does today and will be updated before a paid launch.
What Tune is
Tune is a pronunciation trainer for English. Accounts are created by an administrator; there is no public sign-up. This policy covers the website, the app, and the early-access form.
What we collect
- Access requests: the name, email, role, and message you send through the early-access form, your interface language, and the IP address it came from.
- Account: your email address, which is also your sign-in, a hashed password (never the password itself), and your settings such as English level, coach language, and daily goal.
- Practice: your recordings, their transcripts, pronunciation scores, coach and language reviews, your answers to questions, and the time you spend speaking.
- Materials: texts, word lists, and YouTube links you add, and the transcripts made from them.
- Technical data: a session cookie, a language cookie, the IP address and time of sign-ins and security events, and a record of what AI requests made for your account cost.
How we use it
To run the service: to score and review your speech, generate texts and questions at your level, keep your progress, protect accounts, and keep costs within limits. We use your email only to reply to your request and to invite you. We do not sell personal data, show ads, or use third-party analytics.
Who processes it for us
To score and review a take, audio and text are sent to the providers that do this work:
- Microsoft Azure AI Speech: pronunciation assessment, transcription, and reference speech.
- OpenRouter and OpenAI, and the models they route requests to (for example Google Gemini): generated texts, language and content reviews, translations, the audio coach, and, when chosen, reference speech.
- YouTube: when you import or practise a video, its player and audio come from YouTube.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the database and recordings.
Providers receive only what a task needs and process it under their own terms.
Cookies and storage
Tune uses only the cookies it needs: one keeps you signed in and one remembers your language. Your browser also keeps a few preferences and unsent recordings on your device. The embedded YouTube player may set its own cookies when you practise a video.
How long we keep it
Recordings and practice data stay until you delete them or your account is removed. Access requests stay until we delete them; ask us and we will delete yours. Server security logs record sign-ins and changes to protect accounts.
Your choices
You can delete any recording in the app. To see, correct, or delete your data, or to remove your access request, contact us through the early-access form (choose “Other”) or ask your administrator.
Children
Tune is not intended for children under 16 without a parent, teacher, or school involved.
Changes
We will update this page when the service changes and show the date above.
